Hot dip Galvanizing

Hot dip Galvanizing

“Aarya Industries” is one of the leading galvanizing companies for 8 years providing Hot Dip Galvanizing Services to our highly valued clients. This is ideal for ferrous and non-ferrous items.

Galvanizing is a central activity in the supply chain which offers scope for backward and forward integration. Our company has a highly sophisticated manufacturing unit equipped with advanced technologies.

These galvanizing services are rendered using the latest technology with the following industry standards. Together with this, offered galvanizing services are executed under the direction of quality inspectors.

The most common galvanizing process is the hot-dip galvanizing process, where a steel part is first cleaned of grease and surface impurities.

After surface preparation, the part is dipped into a molten zinc bath for a set amount of time. While submerged, the steel and zinc react to form various layers of iron-zinc alloys, providing the desired protective coating.

After galvanizing, the part is cooled and inspected in post-treatment and prepared for its final application.

Advantages of "Hot Dip galvanizing"

1. Lower Cost

As a general rule of thumb, galvanising is lower in initial cost than a lot of other commonly specified corrosion protection coatings for steel, and also offers a lower long term cost.

2. Extremely Long Life

Galvanised coatings on steel can last in excess of 50 years, continually protecting steel against corrosive elements

3. There is Less Maintenance Required

Hot dip galvanised coatings are self-maintaining, thicker, and because they last longer than other options, maintenance costs of these steel items are inevitably lower.

4. Automatic Protection for any Damaged Areas

Galvanised coatings provide a sacrificial protection to the steel. – As an added benefit, and unlike with other coatings small damaged areas do not need touching up.

5. All Over, Complete Protection

With hot dip galvanising, all parts of the fabrication being galvanised is coated, and hence protected, even sharp corners, recesses, or what could normally be inaccessible areas. – No other corrosion protection coating can offer the same protection to your steel.

6. Reliability

As work is carried out to meet AS4680:2006, there are standard, minimum coating thicknesses that have to be achieved. Hence, coating life and performance are reliable and predictable.

FAQ's on "Hot Dip galvanizing"

Hot-dip galvanizing is the process of immersing iron or steel in a bath of molten zinc to produce a corrosion resistant, multi-layered coating of zinc-iron alloy and zinc metal. … This reaction is a diffusion process, so the coating forms perpendicular to all surfaces creating a uniform thickness throughout the part.

Hot-dip galvanized steel resists corrosion in numerous environments extremely well. It is not uncommon for galvanized steel to last more than 70 years under certain conditions.

Hot dip galvanizing is a process developed to prevent steel from corroding. Before the process can take place, the steel goes through a thorough chemical clean which removes all rust, oil and mill scale from the surface. When the cleaning solution has been rinsed off, the coating process can begin.

  1. Lower cost than stainless.
  2. Less maintenance/Lowest long term cost.
  3. Long life expectancy.
  4. Coating life and performance are reliable.
  5. Outstanding resistance to mechanical damage.
  6. Protection to small areas of steel exposed through damage.
  7. No other coating can provide the same protection.
  8. No lost time in surface preparation, painting and inspection.

Like paints, the hotdip galvanized coating provides protection by isolating the steel from the electrolytes in the environment. As long as the barrier is intact, the steel is protected and corrosion will not occur. The tightly-bonded, impervious nature of zinc metal makes it a very good barrier coating.

During the hotdip galvanizing process, steel is heated to approximately 830 F (443 C) for the galvanizing reaction to occur.

Yes, galvanized steel resistance to rust corrosion depends largely on the type and thickness of the protective galvanized zinc coating, but the type of corrosive environment is also a critical factor. Factors that rust and corrode galvanized steel: Relative humidity above 60%
